Job Summary
Performs daily cleaning and sanitizing of the shelter areas including the dog kennels and cattery cages by following cleaning and disease control protocols.
Shifts for this position run from 9am to 12pm Monday through Sunday.
The Kennel Cleaner is responsible for:
- Providing all animals in assigned area with food, water, and a clean living space
- Cleaning and maintaining animal housing, bedding, food/water dishes, and trash removal in assigned area to include the dog kennels and cattery.

Job Summary
As a Customer Care Associate, you will provide high-quality customer service in person and on the phone to effectively communicate Providence Animal Center’s lifesaving mission, policies, and procedures to members of the public.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality customer service in person, over the phone, via email, etc.; work to create a positive experience for all visitors coming to the Center.
- Screen adoption applications and process adoptions; relay all behavior and medical information from the animal record. Ensure data for each animal is current and accurate. Review the adoption contract, microchip information, and post-adoption policies and procedures. Issue vaccination and liability reminders as needed.
- Answer phones, transfer calls, and return messages.
- Computer data entry to include animal sign-in, entering and/or updating customer information, updating animal records with behavioral and/or medical information, and uploading all appropriate files to the animal or person record.
- Schedule appointments for putty and/or dog training classes, animal surrenders, and adoption returns.
- Record all appropriate information in the owner surrender spreadsheet; call owners to clarify information given, answer questions, and review our process.
- Assist with sending happy tails follow-up emails to recent adopters.
- Assist customers in choosing adoptable animals by relaying information in our adoptions database.
- Create receipts and process payments accurately, following departmental protocols.

Tasks/Major Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall care of the canines and felines housed at FV, which includes cleaning and maintaining animal housing (bedding), feedings, behavior enrichment, disinfecting, cleaning food/water dishes, spot cleaning throughout the day, and trash removal.

Job Summary:
The Clinic Veterinary Technician is responsible for ensuring that both the public and shelter animals in our center receive the best possible care and attention. Duties include cleaning and maintenance of medical equipment and exam rooms, assisting veterinarians in examinations and relevant procedures, medical record review and entry, client education and the appropriate relay of information to/from clients to doctors and management. All job duties are supportive of the Providence Animal Center’s mission in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, and with the safety of people and animals at the forefront of all activities. Accountability:
This position reports directly to the Wellness Clinic Manager. This position is a part-time non-exempt position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely handle animals in accordance with the veterinarian and client needs to ensure proper care.
- Review vaccination records and prepare vaccines according to our vaccine protocol.
- Assist veterinarian during exams or treatments using proper restraint
- Assist veterinarian in performance of routine wellness procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian
- Trim nails, express anal glands, clean ears, draw blood and perform other routine procedures.
- Take vital signs of animals including temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Collect/prepare blood, urine, and fecal samples for relevant testing
- Perform and analyze skin and ear cytologies
- Maintain and use medical equipment such as IDEXX Sedivue and centrifuge.
- Perform routine laboratory procedures such as urinalysis, feline leukemia tests and blood counts (minimum database).
- Maintain cleanliness of Wellness Clinic
- Maintain clinic inventory and records, including controlled drug and ringworm culture logs.

- Must demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Must be able to work under stressful conditions and work efficiently and effectively under those conditions.
- Must have a genuine interest in the work, programs, and mission of Providence Animal Center.
Physical Requirements:
- Must meet physical requirements of the job, to include standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50lbs unassisted and handling dogs as large as 150lbs.
- Must sit, stand, walk, bend and stoop frequently to perform duties.
- Ability to lift and carry 25lbs without assistance.
- Possible exposure to cleaning agents and allergens.
- Possible exposure to zoonotic disease.
- Subject to loud/frequent noise.
Providence Animal Center located in Media, PA.

Pay rate varies based on experience.
