Some ‘Happy Tails’ to Brighten Your Day!

We know how much everyone loves follow ups from some of our favorite formerly homeless pets, and we’ve got two fabulous Happy Tails for you today!

The first Happy Tail comes from the new dad of Spirit, a Pitty blend who we saved from an overcrowded shelter in July.  Spirit came to that facility drastically underweight – she weighed only 21 pounds!  Named for her undeniably sweet nature despite her previous mistreatment, Spirit was a fast favorite at Providence Animal Center, and we all rooted for her during her stay here.  She was placed into a foster home so she could get some extra TLC, and sure enough, she got it – her foster dad fell in love with her and decided to make her stay permanent.  Here’s what he said after making the adoption official:

“I changed her name to Hope when I first met her, I felt she gave me hope. It's really a case of who rescued who. I can't imagine my life without her…I come home and she can't get any closer to me and gives a big exhale when she is next to me.”

This second Happy Tail should make many of our supporters very happy.  Back in February, a few of our lifesavers made the trip up to Yonkers, NY, and rescued 5 dogs from a shelter that was in desperate need of help.  Of those 5 dogs, the he final one to be adopted from our facility was a black and white Pit Bull that we dubbed O’Malley.  And here he is, after spending 4 years homeless, loving life in his forever home:

His new mom says, “He’s sooooooo good. He’s the nicest dog I’ve ever had…we are so happy to have him and he’s so happy. We can’t believe he didn’t have a home for 4 years…He sleeps right in between us every night.”

It doesn’t get much better than that, does it?
