Hello. My name is Mona and I am about 2 years old and 42 pounds. I arrived at Providence Animal Center after being picked up as a stray in Pensacola, Florida. No one ever came looking for me. Providence partners with FOTECAS to help forgotten dogs and cats like me!

I have spent the last month with my wonderful foster parents. You see, I arrived to Providence shut down and not knowing what it was to be loved. My fosters have been the most loving and patient humans as well as their dogs, Leo and Mia, who have been showing me the ropes.

They built me a doggy condo, so I could feel safe and take my time getting comfortable with living inside and going out when I needed to. I have made huge progress in learning to be a happy and loved dog. I now run to my foster parents and the neighbors who give me and my foster siblings treats! I'm learning that humans are not scary but kind and generous (with all kinds of treats and pets). I'm getting comfortable exploring the rest of the house on my own. I just realized that the couch makes the BEST bed! It is SO COMFY. I also learned that what I want most is to be a lap dog and get all the pets and belly rubs. Oh, and I almost forget that rolling around in the grass and chasing my foster siblings is the best way to spend the afternoon.

With all that being said, the staff recommends that I have a fenced-in yard and a confident and playful doggy sibling. If your family includes children, they ask that they are 10 years or older and no apartments or city living. I would do best with a very patient and quiet home that will take things slow to help me acclimate. I'm still learning what is means to be a loved family pet, so going slow and positive reinforcement will do wonders for me.

My foster mom thinks that I have all the potential to be a dream dog. She is totally going to want updates about me (that's how much she loves me). So if you are willing to love me and maybe give my foster mom updates every once in awhile 🙂 send your completed adoption profile to foster@providenceac.org.

XOXO – Mona

Even If You Can't Adopt, You Can Still Help!

    Foster Mona

Foster parents are always needed for kittens, dogs and puppies. Some pets need as little as 2 weeks of care while others may need a few months.

No matter how little or as much time as you can dedicate, there’s an animal that would benefit from your help.

    Sponsor Mona

Your generous sponsorship will help cover the cost of the adoption package. It will also waive the chosen animal’s adoption fee!

Pet sponsors receive updates about their sponsored pet and will be notified when that animal has found his or her forever home.
