Whhaaa?! Did you say walk? Fetch?!

My name is Horton and I'm one of the PAWsome dogs that are available to Providence Animal Center. I was a stray in Florida and the nice USPS carrier gave me a lift to the shelter.

I'm what they called move-in-ready, which means that I am neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Isn't that cool? More about me… well, I am 3 years old and 50 pounds of good boy. I recently was at Bark in the Park and had the best time. I really enjoyed meeting all the humans and doggos.

If you are looking for a fun, go lucky hunk then look no further! The staff & volunteers describe me as playful, sweet and a dash of socialite aka PAWfect. I would prefer a home without cats. I just don't understand them, but I could live with the right doggie roommate. So don't forget to bring your furry friend when you come to meet me! Stop by today to meet me in person. My adoption day is all I can think about, please don’t make me wait too long!

P.S. My adoption fee was generously sponsored in the memory of Ann McGettigan Basden

How to Adopt

Walk-in adoptions are back at PAC! Stop by our Adoption Center during our hours of operation Tuesday-Sunday to meet our available pets. Be sure to check the LOCATION of the pet you are interested in prior to coming in because some pets currently reside in foster homes. To meet a pet in a foster home, a meeting must be set up with our foster coordinator by filling out the adoption profile in the pet's bio.

View most of our adoptable dogs here and cats through this link. Once you see a pet you like, follow the instructions in his/her bio to schedule a meeting. For updates about when puppies & kittens will be available, be sure to follow us on Facebook.

Thank you for your understanding and please consider donating today to help our lifesaving work continue during this challenging time!

Even If You Can't Adopt, You Can Still Help!

Foster Horton

Foster parents are always needed for kittens, dogs and puppies. Some pets need as little as 2 weeks of care while others may need a few months.

No matter how little or as much time as you can dedicate, there’s an animal that would benefit from your help.

Sponsor Horton

Your generous sponsorship will help cover the cost of the adoption package. It will also waive the chosen animal’s adoption fee!

Pet sponsors receive updates about their sponsored pet and will be notified when that animal has found his or her forever home.
