This handsome boy, complete with the awesome ability to curl his tongue, is Duke! Duke is approximately 3 and a half years old and weighs around 60lbs. Through no fault of his own, Duke found his way to our Adoption Center through our Humane Law Officer after he was left behind when his owner moved out. As you can imagine, this experience was quite confusing for Duke, but we’ve been giving him lots of TLC and have spent a lot of dedicated time with him and have seen him just blossom! Duke is eager to learn and takes treats (his favorite are hot dogs) very gently! He’s already learned sit and are currently teaching him ‘down’ – he’s loving his training sessions with the staff and volunteers and would love to continue with his new family! This smarty pants loves to play with toys and really has so much potential!

Duke is doing well with most dogs he meets on leash at the Center- he gets excited to greet most new dog friends and then either wants to walk together, or walk away to do this own thing. So, Duke may be able to have a doggie roommate. We think Duke could successfully cohabitate with older kids too- it just depends on the family. Bring everyone when you come to check him out! Dukes rides well in the car and is generally quiet, calm and well mannered in his kennel so he is likely crate trained. He went on a sleepover to a volunteers house and he was accident free during his stay- so he’s likely house trained too. What more could you ask for in a dog? Smart, handsome and already so well trained!

Duke is already neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and micro-chipped so come fall in love with this big, loving boy today- he’s ready to pack his bags and head home with you!

Even If You Can't Adopt, You Can Still Help!

    Foster Duke

Foster parents are always needed for kittens, dogs and puppies. Some pets need as little as 2 weeks of care while others may need a few months.

No matter how little or as much time as you can dedicate, there’s an animal that would benefit from your help.

    Sponsor Duke

Your generous sponsorship will help cover the cost of the adoption package. It will also waive the chosen animal’s adoption fee!

Pet sponsors receive updates about their sponsored pet and will be notified when that animal has found his or her forever home.
