Howdy!

Have you ever seen a dog as adorable as me?! Can you believe I’m homeless and am waiting for a wonderful person or family to adopt me? Great dogs like me end up in animal shelters every day- I know, it’s so hard to believe but it’s true!

My name is Carl, and I just joined the adoptable doggy crew at Providence Animal Center from Florida. I'm around 9 years young, 83 pounds, and I'm all set to move right into your heart & home today – already neutered, microchipped & up to date on vaccinations.

I was found last July in a forest in distressed. Two amazing animal control officers carried me 1/4 of a mile in the heat of the Florida summer. I only weighed 46 lbs, I was severely dehydrated and in horrible shape. I had the most wonderful foster family that helped me get back and I thrived in her care. I have stolen many hearts during my time in Florida and I am continuing to steal hearts in PA.

My FL foster momma has the following to say about me:

“Carl loves his routine. He day starts with a morning walk (no sleeping in on his watch), followed by breakfast, then nap, lunch, more napping, an early bird dinner at 5:30, and closing the day with another walk. As an sweet elderly gentleman, he can be stubborn but I think it's because he knows what he wants and is insistent that he gets his way. He knows the commands come, stop, bed and this way.

He has been known to have Darth Vader breathing usually when dinner is late and he wants me to hurry up. He is obsessed over water. He just can't have enough of it, so a large rug will help with his enthusiastic water consumption.

He is an expert shadow dog. He has done well with his foster dog and cat siblings. He even will bark at the door to let me know that the cat wants to go out! In typical herd dog fashion, he will try to herd his humans. He is just incredibly special to all of us.”

The staff would love to match you with your new best friend forever – and hopefully that's me! I am lucky enough to be staying in a fabulous foster home while I wait for my forever family to find me. If you are interested in more information about me and/or would like to set up a meeting with me, please send a completed adoption profile to foster@providenceac.

Darth Vader breathing and Kisses,

Carl

P.S. Someone is so excited for me to find my fur-ever home, that they have sponsored my adoption fee! That means I can join your family today for FREE! Woohoo!!

Even If You Can't Adopt, You Can Still Help!

    Foster Carl

Foster parents are always needed for kittens, dogs and puppies. Some pets need as little as 2 weeks of care while others may need a few months.

No matter how little or as much time as you can dedicate, there’s an animal that would benefit from your help.

    Sponsor Carl

Your generous sponsorship will help cover the cost of the adoption package. It will also waive the chosen animal’s adoption fee!

Pet sponsors receive updates about their sponsored pet and will be notified when that animal has found his or her forever home.
