Hiya! The name is Caine. I’m five years old and have sadly found myself homeless too many times. My first owner found out they were allergic, my second owner moved and couldn’t take me with them. My third owner? I think that one is going to stick! As they say, third time’s a charm.
It may not be the best past, but my friends at Providence Animal Center have been preparing me for a bright future – they have had me on a diet and exercise plan since coming back to PAC so I can shed a few pounds and feel my best. I’ve lost 8lbs already and have started to jog short distances; it rocks! I’m super motivated by food (even though I’m on a diet, so shhh) and love to get cheese and hot dogs for my good behavior! I’ve been learning new things every day, and it really hits the spot to have a treat right after so much hard work. I hope my new family wants to continue to learn with me (and reward me!).
Based on behavior observed here at Providence, I would prefer to be the only four-legged friend in my new home. While I never lived with kids, I think I could learn to like it since I love to run, play, swim, jump and just have fun!
My previous owner said I’m house-trained and he taught me a bunch of commands like “sit” and “down.” He also said I was always friendly with people I would meet in the house or out on the town. I like car rides and I LOVE water (check out my video!). My friends at PAC even took me on a trip to the beach, and it was one of the best days EVER!
Can you open your heart and home to this big, funny, silly, well-trained, water-loving dog? hope someone does, and soon because being homeless is no fun. Until then, I’ll keep on with my diet and patiently wait on my forever family. XOXO, Caine.
PS – Someone loves me so much that they already paid my adoption fee, which means I’m free to adopt!
Providence Animal Center is funded solely by adoption fees and donations. Adoption fees vary per animal, please call the Adoption Center and reference this animal’s ID number in order to obtain accurate fee information.

Foster parents are always needed for kittens, dogs and puppies. Some pets need as little as 2 weeks of care while others may need a few months.
No matter how little or as much time as you can dedicate, there’s an animal that would benefit from your help.
Your generous sponsorship will help cover the cost of the adoption package. It will also waive the chosen animal’s adoption fee!
Pet sponsors receive updates about their sponsored pet and will be notified when that animal has found his or her forever home.
