Cooperative Care: Grooming and Handling for Dogs and their People

August 24 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Hosted by Joan Forry, Ph.D., CPDT-KA, CTC.

Does your dog hate nail trims, baths, brushing or other grooming procedures? Would you like to make grooming, handling, and vet visits less stressful for both you and your dog? This seminar is for you!

Fear, stress, and aggression in response to being handled, groomed, or examined at the vet are common issues that can have significant implications for a dog’s health and well-being. Fortunately, with careful and creative training, we can enable dogs to receive the care they need.

Participants in this seminar will learn positive, science-based training techniques to help dogs feel comfortable with grooming and handling. This seminar will teach participants how to navigate nail trims and other challenges. Participants will also learn how to incorporate targeting and stationing behaviors into grooming and handling procedures.
