Giving Tuesday is the largest day of giving all year, granting non-profits like PAC a national platform to share the good work being done daily to care for the homeless pets who need us the most. Below are symbolic gifts of kindness that give YOU the opportunity to learn & support all of the lifesaving efforts being put forth to save, treat and home the 4,000+ pets that pass through our doors each year. Your gift of any amount will be put to work immediately to support the daily lifesaving efforts of dog and cat rescue and adoption as well as preventative programs to help the animals who need it most in our community and beyond.
HAVE YOUR DONATION DOUBLED!
Our friends at Sperr's Fuel and Heating generously offered to match every dollar you donate for Giving Tuesday, up to $10,000! That means your donation is doing double the work to help the homeless pets here at PAC!
Play Day Package | $25
Romping, rolling and racing around – doggy play groups are a special part of the week for our canine guests at PAC. For the dogs, it’s a wonderful way to socialize, release stress and get some physical activity. For our training team, these sessions provide invaluable information about our adoptable pooches. By monitoring interactions with other dogs and people, we learn more about their behavior to make sure we can find them their perfect match!
Squeaky Clean Spa day | $35
Knotty hair and a dirty coat isn’t the best way to catch the eye of a potential adopter. That’s when it’s spa day time! Bubbles and clippers go a long way when you’re trying to get adopted – you have to put your best paw forward! Even though we want all of our adoptables to look dazzling, it's more important that they feel comfortable in their own skin, especially if they come in full of mats and tangles. Being able to give our pets that extra special care goes a long way.
Shy Guy Package | $45
Some cats need more time than others to feel at home when they first enter the Center. These are our shy guys! When our staff notices a cat who needs more time to come out of their shell, they make a plan to slowly earn the trust of our new feline guest through a series of small interactions, like simply standing at their cage or giving treats when they are passing through. All of these little positive efforts start to add up, creating a mutual respect. Sooner than later, we can get these bashful kitties up in the cattery to find a family!
Learning is Fun | $50
Books and Number 2 pencils aren’t on our supply list because our good girls and boys have different types of training needs. Our pets use slow feeders, cat nip, baby pools, Kongs, puzzle games, feather wands, harnesses and special leashes. We also use music and scent therapy to help keep their minds busy, so our furry friends are overall more happy and learn how to be the best pet possible.
A Bundle of Kittens | $60
These tiny balls of fur are easy to fall in love with but challenging to care for. When mama is not here to provide around-the-clock care, it takes a small village to replace her. Staff and volunteers use syringes and tiny bottles to feed every couple of hours, clean them up and socialize them. The intense care can last up to 6 weeks. It’s truly a labor of love but super worth it to see these balls of fur turn in to curious kittens ready to explore their new homes!
Pile of puppies | $75
With tiny paws and puppy breath, these little bundles are a lot of fun, unless they get sick. Then these poor cuties need a quiet, isolated space, medication and a whole lot of love to mend. Our baby pets are always higher risk than adults, until they receive a full round of vaccinations, dewormer and preventive treatments. We also need to socialize these little rascals, so they become well-adjusted dogs in their forever homes.
On the mend Package | $100
For those pets who have a little more health needs than the average cat or dog, we have our adoption health department. This department works with pets who have small problems like a respiratory infection, all the way up to Parvo. These loving fur-balls stay separated from the other pets and get medication, special diets and one-on-one care until they are healthy and ready to hit the adoption floor.
Serve & Protect | $250
Our Humane Law Enforcement department handles thousands of animal cruelty cases a year - from neglect to severe abuse. Each case is different, but the one thing that stays the same is the dedication to each and every pet - making sure that we can get them in to a stable environment, medical treatment and a chance for a clean slate and new beginnings!
Lifesaving Road Trip | $500
Slightly different from your I-spy, “are we there yet” road trips – instead of bikinis, bikes & beach umbrellas – we’re packing crates, cleaning supplies, beds, blankets, kibble & jugs of water to buckle in a bunch of furry friends and bring them safely back to the Center for a chance at forever. These trips cause a lot of wear & tear on our van, use a ton of gas and of course a whole lot of time – but it’s all well worth it to save lives.
Expert Care Package | $750
Specialty surgeries and off-campus care is not usually needed because we have such a robust medical department – but when it is, it’s usually urgent. We work with PennVet and other specialists for those who need intense and unique medical requirements. Most of the time, these pets are coming from cruelty cases and have been neglected so much so that they have developed major health issues over time. Working with our medical partners, we can form a plan for each pet, making sure they are happy and healthy.
Building a Forever | $1,000
Coming from the tiny shelter on the hill - to the new expanded campus - we've enhanced our Center quite a bit, to make living more comfortable and clean for our four-legged & two-legged guests. However, upkeep and improvements are always necessary. The wear & tear of 4,000 pets passing through our doors each year takes a toll on the building. To keep the buildings safe and clean - we are always looking ahead to stay on top of any fixes that come our way!
